This website is operated by the Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos Old Boys' Association (“the Association”). By using the website, applying for membership or signing in to a member account, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.

These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

Membership of the Association is open to Old Boys of Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos. When you apply, you confirm that you attended the school and that the details you provide — including your name, set year and house — are true and complete.

Applications are reviewed before they are approved. The Association may approve or decline an application, and may suspend or withdraw membership where an applicant is found not to be an Old Boy, where information provided is false, or where a member breaches these terms or the constitution of the Association.

You are responsible for the security of your account. In particular, you agree to:

• Choose a strong password and keep it confidential
• Not share your account with, or transfer it to, another person
• Keep your profile details accurate and up to date
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authority

Activity carried out through your account is treated as your own. You may close your account at any time by contacting the Association.

You agree not to:

• Use the website for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law
• Collect, copy, scrape or store the member directory or any part of the membership register, whether manually or by automated means
• Use member contact details for marketing, political campaigning, solicitation or any purpose unconnected with the Association
• Post or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with the school or the Association
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server or part of the website, or to disrupt its operation
• Introduce any virus, malware or other harmful code

We may suspend or terminate access where these rules are breached, and may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

The member directory and the public membership search are provided so that Old Boys can find and confirm one another in good faith. Information obtained through either facility is made available to you for personal and Association purposes only. Using it to build a mailing list, a commercial database or any other compilation is a breach of these terms and may also be a breach of data protection law.

You control what other members can see about you through the Privacy Settings page of your account.

You retain ownership of the photographs, biography and other material you upload. By submitting content, you grant the Association a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it for the purposes of operating the website and the activities of the Association. You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

We may remove content that breaches these terms, and may decline to publish material submitted for the news, gallery or announcement sections.

The name, crest, motto and other insignia of Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos and of the Association, together with the text, photographs, documents and historical material published on this website, are the property of the school, the Association or their respective owners. You may view and share this material for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other reproduction or commercial use requires our prior written permission.

Announcements of events, meetings and projects published here are made in good faith, and details may change. Where registration is required, places may be limited and are confirmed only when we accept your registration. Any dues, levies, donations or event fees are governed by the resolutions of the Association and by the terms notified at the time of payment.

We aim to keep the website available and its content accurate, but it is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice. Historical material is published for the interest and benefit of Old Boys and is not intended as a definitive record.

The website may link to external sites, including social media accounts. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Association, its officers and its volunteers will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and continued use of the website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the website.
